Important Info
Preparing your loved ones for travelling:
- Make sure that all health checks, deworming and vaccinations are completed at least fourteen days before entry into the kennels.
- Ensure that your pets are tick- and flea free.
- Teach your dog to walk on a leash quietly, so that our staff can take him/her for a walk.
- Pack vaccination certificates, any prescribed medicines, as well as the vet's details, and any other relevant information that will assist us in taking care of your pet as best as we can. Any medication and treats accompanying your pets, should be placed in an ice cream tub or similar container and clearly labeled with your pet's name, your surname, date of stay and instructions for the administering thereof.
- We recommend that your pet has a clearly labelled tag on a collar that fits well. No choke chains will be accepted, and please remember that the leash will stay with you.
- Socialize your pet towards strangers, especially if he/she needs grooming or medication.
Dropping your pets off:
- Exercise your dogs beforehand and allow them to relieve themselves.
- Do not feed your pets, for at least two hours before leaving.
- To minimize separation anxiety, leave the kids at home, put the pets into the car, and tune into soothing music, whilst driving to us.
- For your safety as much as theirs, rather transport your cats in suitable pet carriers. Never let a cat loose in the car. Cats not used to traveling, will be frightened by the noise, are most likely to hide under the seat and will possibly escape during your efforts to take them out.
- Leave your pets in the car, while sorting out the paper work at our reception. That way all the attention could solely be focused on them, as soon as all this is done.
Paradise for Pampered Pooches
At Paws Resort, we take pleasure in providing dogs with a carefree existence.
We offer luxury, spacious accommodation for up to 40 doggy families at any one time. Individual, grassed gardens, with established trees, provide space to run, bark and play.
Please request a Chalet when you make a booking if this is your preference, as availability is limited.
Paws Resort does not combine families. We believe in providing each family with their own space........however, socialising can be done during daily walks and with neighbours at will through secure fencing.
Heating facilities keep the cold at bay. Your dogs can enjoy snuggling up in comfort, during the day or night. Heaters are charged for on a daily/nightly basis- and must be requested on arrival.
Jerseys and blankets are provided to ALL dogs at no extra cost- Springbok colours only!
Housekeeping & Hygiene
All gardens are kept in mint condition, and cleaned regularly during the day.
Kennels are cleaned using F10 products, which are veterinary certified.
All pets are issued with clean bedding on arrival. These blankets are washed and replaced weekly or sooner if required.
All dogs are treated preventatively for ticks and fleas on arrival with a registered product such as Advantix or Frontline. Dogs staying longer than 28 days will require an additional treatment. Deworming is also administered at certain times of the year.
Food & Beverage
Dogs are fed twice a day.
We feed Montego Classic and/or Royal Canin, paired with a freshly prepared lean Beef mince gravy at dinner-time.
Chicken and rice casserole must be ordered in advance.
Dogs are feed according to breed, age and size.
If you have any particular request please advise our kennel manager so we can accommodate you.
All Veterinary diets are welcome at Paws Resort, unfortunately no other food will be accepted.
Water is provided in large waterbowls - which are cleaned daily and refilled twice daily - and more often for doggies which like to ensure there is more water out than in the water-bowl.
Exercise
Dogs are walked daily in our 3 acre park, on a leash or a harness. The duration of the walk is dependent on your dog......... geriatrics get a sedate walk, while energetic dogs get their daily run in- sometimes twice a day!
Swimming pools are provided for dogs which enjoy "Aqua-Aerobics" - or just prefer lounging about in the cool water.
Pampering on Departure
Who does not enjoy being pampered in a salon?
Dogs are bathed and brushed on departure.
If your require your dogs to be groomed in a particular style - breed specific or other, please mention this on admission so we can book your poochie into our "Private Parlour".
